Welcome to the Responsive Grants application form

**Important information to read before applying**

Moonee Valley City Council's Responsive Grants program provides small amounts of funding to community groups, local businesses and individuals based on three categories:

  1. Community Support - up to $1,000
    • Small community projects (e.g. start-up groups, street greening, neighbourhood activations, etc.)
  2. Business Support - up to $500
    • Small storefront and outdoor space beautification projects (e.g. paint refresh, signage, planter boxes, etc.)
  3. Individual Participation - up to $500
    • Supporting residents with financial hardship in select sports, arts and educational activities

IMPORTANT: You cannot apply for any cost you have already paid for before submitting your application. 

Deadlines

All rounds close at 5:00pm on the first of each month. Assessment will be completed approximately 3-4 weeks following the close of the round.

  1. Read the Moonee Valley Grants Guidelines.
  2. Discuss your project with the Community Grants Officer on 9243 1664 or grants@mvcc.vic.gov.au 

 

Completing the application

  • Save regularly to avoid losing your work! You can also save and return to your application at any time prior to submission.

  • Having trouble answering a question? Look below each question for hints to help you answer the question.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to you once you submit your application, including a PDF copy of the application for your records.

You can also return to http://mvcc.smartygrants.com.au at any time to view a copy of your application.

After submission, no changes can be made without the assistance of the Grants Officer.

 

Assessment and decision

Your applications will be assessed against the criteria outlined in the Guidelines on page 6. You will be notified of the outcome of your application approximately 3 weeks following the closing of the round. Unfortunately, not all applications will be successful. 

 

Documents you will need to upload in the application

Please scan or take clear photos of your documents to upload to the application when prompted.

Attachments required:

For individuals:

  • Proof of residency in Moonee Valley (i.e. rates notice, licence, utility bill, etc.)
  • Demonstration of financial hardship (i.e. Healthcare card, pension card, document acknowledging financial disadvantage, etc.)
  • Proof of participation in activity, either:
    • selection in an elite activity (i.e. Letter from governing association confirming competitive selection in an elite sports/recreation, arts/culture or learning activity), OR
    • proof of participation in a local activity (i.e. a letter confirming participation in a local activity from the local organisation).

For organisations/groups:

  • Certificate of incorporation or evidence of other legal status; or provided by Auspice organisation along with an auspice agreement letter
  • Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency (unless exempt – Public Liability Fact Sheet)

For businesses:

  • Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency 
  • Permission from owner or landlord for any changes or upgrades to property  (e.g. painting, affixed signs, awnings, murals, bolted down furniture, anything fixed to the building or property, etc.)
